Voluntary Scrapie Program
Scrapie is a fatal, degenerative disease affecting the central nervous system of sheep and goats. It is among a number of diseases classified as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE). We have been in the Voluntary Scrapie program for two years now.
OPP Testing
Ovine progressive pneumonia is a viral disease of sheep in North America. There is no effective treatment or vaccine for OPP. Our goal at Diamond Creek Heritage Sheep is to test all new animals prior to entry and document OPP negativity of our entire flock over the next three years.

Breeding Season
Our breeding season for next year will begin in December. We will move the ewes to an annual birthing pasture and facility to ensure fresh grazing for new lambs. With this time frame, lambs should be born in April and ready for deliver in June.
